Sucralín: the faithful ally for people with diabetes

Sucralín

After 12 years on the market, we still say we were created, above all, to provide solutions to people who, for various reasons—such as diabetes—couldn't consume sugar as they wished. November 14 is celebrated as World Diabetes Day, a disease far from having a date for eradication; the number of people who develop it increases every year. Spain alone has more than five million people with this condition, and it is believed there are more than 1.5 million who are unaware they have it. That means 14% of the population already has serious problems with sugar. Worse still, the forecasts are not encouraging, and it is expected to continue rising in the coming years. I would like to point out that Europe is at lower numbers—under 10% (9.2% specifically)—so there is much work to be done, especially to prevent it among younger people, where maintaining a more balanced diet makes it easier not to develop the disease. Diabetes is a public health problem, and we must all commit to reducing it. Although governments have a very important responsibility to protect society by investing far more resources in diabetes-related health education, people and food companies must also do their part so that the health problems caused by diabetes do not continue to increase unchecked.

Experiences with Sucralín… they work!

Our product was born to be the alternative to sugar, and the people who could value it most were those with diabetes. A natural sweetener (derived from sugar cane, so it tastes like sugar) that should have no contraindications to be a true alternative. We didn’t want to be just something else; we wanted to prove there were better options on the market. And we had to be the best of them. That was what people with diabetes were looking for: to be able to sweeten their lives without suffering as a result. Artificial sweeteners, such as polyols (erythritol, maltitol), or natural ones like agave syrup or stevia, each had weaknesses that kept them from being The Option, capitalized. The diabetic community was our most important priority in Sucralín’s early days, because if we could convince them—for medical reasons—other groups would be less resistant. Our goal has always been to make a universal product, for everyone, and people with diabetes were our top priority at the start. To enjoy a product like a milkshake, a tea, a coffee, or a cake sweetened with Sucralín, and best of all, not risk feeling unwell afterward. That was our message, clear and direct. Little by little, we have gotten many people with diabetes to try our products in any of the formats—granulated, liquid, or tablets—and what other sweeteners can’t claim is the incredible loyalty people feel toward Sucralín; we could even say it’s unique. “When I tried it I knew I would never change,”it changed my life; I could have sweets again without restrictions,”I didn’t know what it was to enjoy sweets until I tried Sucralín,”I can make recipes with Sucralín and they turn out great for the whole family.”... those are some of the comments we've received from people with diabetes who are now much happier thanks to our natural-origin products. Mission accomplished!
