Three cuts, three textures and three delicious ways to discover why Spanish seafood preserves are truly exceptional.
Some of life's greatest pleasures are wonderfully simple. Opening a tin of exceptional Spanish tuna, placing some good bread on the table, pouring a glass of wine and sharing that first delicious bite with someone you love. But did you know that different parts of the same fish can offer completely different flavours and textures?
In Spain, this is something we have appreciated for generations. Our traditional seafood producers understand that every cut has its own personality. And knowing the difference makes enjoying these delicacies even more special.
Today, we would love to introduce you to three of them.

Tuna Belly: Delicate and Irresistible
Known in Spain as ventresca, tuna belly comes from the underside of the fish. It is particularly prized for its rich natural fat content, delicate texture and exceptional tenderness. Each bite is wonderfully juicy, with beautiful flakes that separate almost effortlessly.
It is one of the most treasured delicacies in premium Spanish seafood preserves.
Our gourmet tip: enjoy it on its own, with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil or alongside some roasted red peppers.
Exceptional ingredients need very little to shine.

Tuna Loin: Beautifully Balanced
The loin is one of the most familiar and versatile cuts. Its flesh is firmer than the belly, offering a pleasant texture and a beautifully balanced flavour. It is ideal for anyone looking for a premium seafood preserve that works equally well as an aperitif or as part of a delicious meal.
Our gourmet tip: pair it with fresh tomatoes, Spanish olives and a generous drizzle of excellent Spanish extra virgin olive oil.
Simple ingredients. Wonderful Mediterranean flavours.

Body Cuts: The Heart of a Great Preserve
The main body of the tuna provides several cuts, including the loins. In Spanish seafood preserves, the term tronco may describe more compact portions of fish, depending on the producer and product presentation. These cuts are wonderfully versatile and particularly enjoyable in salads, on toasted bread or as part of a relaxed meal with friends.
Our gourmet tip: serve them with roasted vegetables and a little Spanish olive oil.
A simple combination full of flavour.
Spain: Where Preserving the Sea Is an Art
At Made in Spain Gourmet, we have enormous admiration for the people behind our exceptional seafood preserves. Producers who carefully select their fish, respect traditional methods and dedicate themselves to preserving one of Spain's most valuable gastronomic traditions. Because a great tin of tuna is never just fish in a tin.
It is craftsmanship, heritage and the pleasure of bringing the finest flavours of the Spanish sea to tables around the world.
And we want you to discover what makes each cut so special.
