Israel Romero / Tuesday, October 8, 2024 / Categories: Blog Spain is Quality — it's Made in Spain Gourmet. Premium Spanish Gourmet Products There is still much to learn about the exceptional nature of our cuisine and our premium Spanish gourmet products. It seems incredible that we have barely done our homework. We know what we have to do: share our knowledge with everyone. In the four years our Made in Spain Gourmet website has been online, we’ve seen it all: shops calling themselves gourmet and we couldn’t tell why, because their products didn’t convey what we believe should be the flagship of our gastronomy, and little else. Doing something distinctive and high-quality inevitably carries in its DNA concepts such as effort, sacrifice, and above all, hard work to create something that is different and, if possible, unique. That’s the kind of gourmet products we select for our company. Premium gourmet products, the best of Spain. To do that, you must invest a lot of time in learning what is made in Spain, getting to know the people, their products and, of course, tasting them. If we stopped there we would have only one-third of the job done. We would still need to make them known and then have people buy them because of what we communicate through our marketing channels. That’s where the black hole lies. There is no standard that all the companies selling gourmet products made in Spain can use as a guide or support. But this happens because there is a lack of motivation to unite among the brands that do it very well, on the one hand, and on the other there is a lot of interference from people and companies that claim to sell Spanish gourmet products. It’s true… for some of the products, but others are NOT, and then they can no longer be considered experts, and worst of all the consumer is left more bewildered and disoriented. Bravo! Made in Spain Gourmet: effort to offer only the best Our competition certainly doesn’t help us educate the gourmet consumer better. Poorly designed websites, senseless texts where the aim is to pile up keywords so the site ranks better on Google… The other day I even found a French website that offers Spanish gourmet products, and on its homepage it had this nonsensical phrase: Iberian ham "Pata Negra" acorn-fed, Iberian charcuterie and premium Spanish gastronomy. Their best gourmet shop. What a disaster! All the words they thought could add value to ham in a single sentence, without explaining anything, simply strung together without reason. That means concepts about a product like Iberian ham are not unified, and therefore those who win are the ones who distort things by mixing concepts without ever explaining them. At no point do they mention 100% Iberian-breed ham, the official name that should be respected and used by all who pride themselves on being experts of this unique product. At no point do they talk about the 4 Denominations of Origin that exist in Spain, how these wonderful animals are fattened and what they eat, why it has a much higher cost than serrano ham or other Iberian hams that are 50% crossbred with other types of pigs, and something very important: what it pairs best with. That is our seal of quality. Made in Spain Gourmet can speak about every product it offers because it knows all of their owners, has tasted their products and is able to guarantee their worth. We are the guarantee, and we fulfill the commitment to offer The Best of our Spanish products. That is why we are the only ones who talk about premium Spanish products… we go one step further. We strive for excellence, where anyone who wants to be and remain there must prove it every day. And that is not easy when the best Spanish products are not being sold. Moreover, we provide information about those products in the more than 30 languages in which our website is available. We prepare packages with the utmost care and reinforce them with extra effort so that the experience of the product photo seen on the website is the same when one receives the package at home. All that sacrifice and professionalism bears fruit for us in excellent customers and sales. But we notice there is still a long way to go before Spain gets the place it deserves. We continue working against ignorance and against erratic communication that seeks to confuse or simply sell an inferior version of Spain, and in favor of the excellence of Spanish people and products.
