Alemany Cabernet Sweet-and-Sour Vinegar with Chestnut Honey is a gourmet product made with organic vinegar from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and sweetened with chestnut honey, the result of a collaboration with the family company Vinagres Badia.

This sweet-and-sour vinegar is the fruit of constant innovation, while always maintaining our traditional essence and the inspiration we find in everything around us.

The reddish hues, floral aroma, and woody component of our Cabernet sweet-and-sour vinegar with chestnut honey have surprised the most discerning palates at the international Great Taste Awards.

The fusion of floral, fruity, and vegetal aromas with hints of green pepper and unroasted coffee, together with its balsamic and fruity flavor, is the perfect combination for the most curious palates.

Alemany chestnut honey is a floral honey with a clear dry-wood component, sweet and with salty notes that transport us to the country’s most humid mountains. It has received the highest accolade at the Great Taste Awards: three stars.

In natural medicine, chestnut honey is used to improve blood circulation and in cases of anemia or fatigue. In addition, chestnut honey has a cleansing and anti-rheumatic action.

Alemany: we are who we are thanks to honey

Honey is their distinguishing feature, the common ingredient that makes their products unique. Tradition in nougats and innovation in honey shape the Alemany Universe, a concept inspired by their way of understanding the world. A world founded by a woman, Grandmother Mundeta, and occupied mostly by women. A world in which people come before machines. And a world where the rhythms and timing of cooking and task execution are respected, and where cooperation stands as a rising value over competitiveness. The Alemany Universe revolves around their values, values that have been passed down from generation to generation from the late 19th century to the present day.

Their passion for honey has led them to promote a range of actions to spread the idea of honey as the natural sweetener among the public. That is why Ferran Alemany, the company’s manager, advocates the need for a sweeter world and firmly defends that, if honey was humanity’s first sweetener—it already appears in cave paintings—there is no doubt that “we are who we are thanks to honey.”

Alemany 1879

Five generations of honey and turrón In the town of Os de Balaguer (La Noguera), under the watchful presence of Montsec and its exceptional sky, Torrons i Mel Alemany has built a universe of sweets. For five generations, the Alemany family has crafted artisanal turrón and selected honey from the finest beekeepers. The story of Turrones y Miel Alemany began at the end of the 19th century, when Mrs. Mundeta made a caramel with local honey and nuts. Since Montsec is a harsh and difficult land for cultivation, this activity offered them a valuable alternative. The distinctive character of Alemany turrón comes from a 19th-century recipe that gives the paste its characteristic white color. Slow cooking, locally sourced nuts, and a carefully selected rosemary honey are part of the secret behind the turrón’s distinctive flavor. Alemany has specialized in monofloral honeys, sourced from beekeepers across the country. Innovation at Alemany comes through the concept of honey with added value, in its gourmet honey line. Alemany turrón and honey have been recognized with Great Taste Awards on several occasions, an accolade considered the Oscars of the delicatessen food world. In recent years, the company has developed new gourmet products such as vinegars, spreads, and chocolates, helping the brand become present in more and more countries every day.
