Sliced 100% Iberian Acorn-Fed Pancetta by Beher

Sliced 100% Iberian Acorn-Fed Pancetta represents one of the tastiest and most highly prized cuts of the Iberian pig, made according to the purest Spanish charcuterie tradition. Sourced from 100% Iberian pigs, free-range raised in dehesa pastures and naturally fed on acorns, this pancetta stands out for its juiciness, unctuous texture, and balanced flavor.

After careful selection, the pancetta is traditionally marinated with salt, paprika, and oregano, a classic combination that enhances the quality of the meat without masking it. The drying and curing process, lasting between 5 and 6 months, is carried out slowly, respecting natural timings and applying the latest technologies to guarantee maximum quality and food safety.

The result is a product with a firm yet melt-in-the-mouth texture, and a deep, elegant flavor. On the palate, intense notes of paprika, an enveloping aroma, and a lightly spiced finish extend the gourmet experience.

The sliced, vacuum-packed format preserves all its organoleptic properties intact and makes it easy to enjoy with no prior preparation required. Simply open the pack and let it come to room temperature for a few minutes to fully appreciate its aroma and flavor.

What is a Protected Designation of Origin?

The Protected Designation of Origin, or P.D.O., is a regulated quality seal that guarantees a product has been made following a specific process in a specific region. This ensures exclusive and consistent quality across all products sharing the same Designation of Origin. With regard to Iberian shoulders and hams, from animals that comply with Iberian pig regulations, there are only 4 in the world.

  • P.D.O. Guijuelo: located in Salamanca.
  • P.D.O. Los Pedroches: from the province of Córdoba.
  • P.D.O. Jabugo: from the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, in Huelva.
  • P.D.O. Dehesa de Extremadura: where the million hectares of dehesa pastureland available in Extremadura are an ecological paradise for our pigs.

Beher

Its origins date back to the early 1930s, when Bernardo Hernández Blázquez, founder of BEHER, began selling the first Iberian products he crafted artisanally.

In the 1970s, Bernardo Hernández García, the founder’s son, took over, growing BEHER exponentially and internationalizing the brand through its first exports. It was at this time that the company incorporated the breeding of native 100% Iberian pigs, where the genetic selection established from the very beginning has proven to be the key to achieving the current excellence of its products.

With the turn of the century and the arrival of the third generation, led by Bernardo and Jorge Hernández Tinoco, BEHER had become a consolidated company recognized worldwide, controlling the entire production process: from pig breeding to preparation and curing, and finally to showcasing and selling its Iberian products through an extensive distribution network and its shops and restaurants across Spain and Portugal.

Today, the fourth generation is beginning to play a role, and at BEHER they remain firmly committed to the quality and authenticity of all their products. The digital environment, innovation, and new technologies drive them to continue working hard to adapt to changing times and to the needs and tastes of the market.

Present in more than 50 countries across 4 continents, BEHER is a guarantee that its determination to go further aligns with our philosophy.
